Robert Webber, President and CEO
Bob Webber’s career spans more than 30 years with major software development companies in telecommunications, the entertainment industry, healthcare and life sciences. This includes more than 20 years in management and executive management positions with GTE and Lucent leading the development of mission-critical software for high-reliability telecommunication networks.
Bob joined TranSenda as Chief Technology Officer and was instrumental in evolving the TranSenda Central™ processing platform technology with Plug-and-Process™ graphical workflow and “drag and drop” integration for the healthcare market. Bob was later promoted to President and CEO, focusing TranSenda’s proven and highly flexible platform technology on small to medium sized life sciences organizations, with special emphasis on developing dynamic and revolutionary modular clinical trial software applications, products and solutions to meet the integration and data management needs of biotechnology companies. Bob holds five US patents in the software development field. He was recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences with an Academy Technical Achievement award in 1999 for motion control software for high-speed traveling camera systems used in feature films.
Mr. Webber is a member of the Drug Information Association, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, the Washington State Biotechnology & Biomedical Association, and the Washington Software Alliance. He has an honors degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia.
Larry Romel, MSc, Chief Science Advisor
Larry has over 20 years of experience in the life sciences industry. Prior to joining TranSenda, he worked in and managed teams in the areas of Clinical Operations, Project Management, Regulatory Affairs, Product Development, and Analytical Research for companies like Xcyte Therapies, Cell Genesys, SuperGen, Onyx Pharmaceuticals, and Sequus.
His breadth of experience has included the development of biologics such as Xcellerated T Cell and GVAX cancer vaccine cell-based therapies, viral therapies (oncolytic adenovirus) and toxin-sourced therapies (Ziconotide™); small molecule-based therapies (Orathecin™, Decitabine); liposome encapsulated drug therapies (DOXIL™, Amphotec™); drug delivery devices; and hospital/medical devices.
Major accomplishments include preparation for and implementation of multiple domestic and European clinical registration programs, managing multiple regulatory filings, advisory committee hearing preparation and participation, and institution of corporate project management systems. Larry organized and managed a major clinical development process re-engineering program and has been a speaker on various topics concerning clinical development and project management in the life sciences industry.
Mr. Romel holds a Master of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Illinois, Chicago and is certified in Project Management through U.C. Berkeley.
Brent Shepherd, Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Brent has over 20 years of experience in the management of solution sales. Prior to joining TranSenda, Brent was at Microsoft, where as Manager of Worldwide Consulting Offerings he drove and supported the alignment, consistent usage and uptake of an end-to-end (solution selling, delivery and support) process across Microsoft’s worldwide services organization. Prior to Microsoft, Brent managed teams of consultative sales and professional services specialists at both Loudeye Technologies and Mosaix. During his tenure at Mosaix, a provider of Enterprise Customer Relationship Management (CRM) workflow software and services that was acquired by Lucent, he directed a nationwide team of senior enterprise solution sales specialists to sell and secure large-scale, CRM systems and CTI software integration projects for F1000 clients, resulting in long-term, trusted advisor relationships and repeatable, high dollar/revenue sales.
Mr. Shepherd attended the University of Oregon and the University of Montana receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration; and completed a custom University of Washington Executive MBA program while with Mosaix.
Balaji Shyamkumar, PhD, Vice President of Engineering
Balaji has over 15 years of experience in the management of software engineering. Balaji was most recently at Amazon as Senior Manager of its technology division for consumer electronics, where he built and led their technology team. Prior to joining Amazon, Balaji directed Engineering and IT teams in strategic planning, systems deployment, and automation of business processes for various medical device manufacturers including St Jude Medical, GE, and Sonosite. Balaji also led the development of several enterprise applications. Most recently, he led the development and launch of Stratify’s flagship product -the Enterprise Discovery System.
Mr. Shyamkumar has a PhD in Computer Engineering and an MS in Physics from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics & Telecom from IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) in Chennai, India. He is a member of the IEEE and ISACA.
Justin Hunt, Director of Operations and Quality Assurance
Justin has over 15 years of operational management experience, including seven years as the Director of Operations for H&R Block of Western Washington, with complete operational responsibility for over 100 retail tax offices. During his tenure with H&R Block, the western Washington region was recognized on two separate occasions for having the best annual growth results in the United States. In his role at TranSenda, Justin is responsible for ensuring the overall predictability of quality, schedule and financial results through the creation and consistent implementation of company processes.
Mr. Hunt received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Washington.
Michael Pruett, Treasurer and CFO
Mike’s career in finance and accounting spans 20 years and has included management and executive roles in non-profit, financials services, and high tech industries. Prior to joining TranSenda, Mike served as CFO for Orrtax Software where his experiences included mergers and acquisitions. Prior to his role at Orrtax Mike worked his way from Staff Accountant to CFO at H&R Block of Western Washington where he was instrumental in the design and implementation of an automated tax office bookkeeping system used in over 1,000 H&R Block offices.
Mr. Pruett received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration & Accounting from Columbia Christian College in Portland, Oregon.
